The Foreign Secretary of India, Vikram Misri, visited the UAE recently and took part in official meetings in Abu Dhabi.

Misri met H.E. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State and Special Envoy for India, and H.E. Khaldoon Al Mubarak, MD and CEO, Mubadala Investment Company.

He held a detailed review of the full spectrum of the bilateral cooperation with Hashimy, when they both positively assessed the developments since the visit of President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in January this year, followed by the visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in February 2026.

Misri and Hashimy also reviewed the ongoing bilateral cooperation in vital sectors, such as trade, investment, economic cooperation, energy, connectivity, defence and security, fintech, health, education, and culture. They analyzed the outcomes of the 16th Joint Commission Meeting and 5th Strategic Dialogue, co-chaired by EAM, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of UAE, in December last year.

They also identified new initiatives to further deepen the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, besides exchanging views on the prevailing situation in the Middle East while not excluding other regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Misri took part in a trilateral meeting under the India–France–UAE framework. Hashimy was also present at the event in which H.E. Martin Briens, Secretary General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, participated. The three sides reaffirmed their commitment to the trilateral partnership and agreed on a structured roadmap with defined timelines. – editor@nrifocus.com
