A ‘Meet and Greet’ programme was organised in Milpitas, California, under the leadership of North America Special Representative Komati Jayaram, who is also chairman, Gandhi King Foundation.
Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat participated in the event.
While addressing the gathering, Sribharat said that Visakhapatnam was emerging as the growth engine of Andhra Pradesh and that the State was progressing steadily towards becoming a trillion-dollar economy.
He focussed on how the State was offering some of the most competitive industrial incentives in the country, making it an attractive option for NRIs to invest in in the fast-developing Visakhapatnam. By doing so, he said, NRIs can become stakeholders in the successful economic journey of Andhra Pradesh.
Sribharat confirmed that Tata Consultancy Services and Cognizant had commenced operations in the State, while Google and ArcelorMittal were soon to join the fray.
The Bhogapuram International Airport, to be inaugurated in July this year, would improve regional connectivity for investors, he said.
As Andhra Pradesh presently attracted over 25% of all investments flowing into India, he added that this was the right time for the diaspora to explore possibilities for investing in the State.
He promised NRI investors that they would receive optimum support from his office and the State government as well. – editor@nrifocus.com
