Smriti Irani attends roundtable on India-UAE partnership in Ajman

Prominent business leaders and investors from the UAE gathered at the residence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, for an exclusive roundtable discussion hosted by him, in Ajman.

Titled ‘India-UAE Synergies: Exploring Strategic Market Opportunities in India’, the meeting saw the participation of Smriti Zubin Irani, former Cabinet Minister of India, who emphasised that such events “fostered the collaboration needed to take our [India-UAE] partnership to new heights”.

The roundtable discussion aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between both the countries, unlocking potential in education, technology and energy sectors.

Irani said, “India and the UAE have always shared a unique relationship rooted in history and shared values. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is a rising economic power and a beacon of innovation and progress.”

Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Executive Director for Africa, Middle East and South Asia at Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), who moderated the discussion, said that India’s transformation was an inspiring narrative of progress, resilience, and inclusivity. “The UAE has been a key partner in this journey, and this roundtable underscores our shared goals for a prosperous future,” he added.

Commenting on the importance of the meeting, where models of Indian projects and investments in the UAE were reviewed, Al Nuaimi said, “The UAE and India share an enduring partnership that has grown stronger with time, built on mutual trust, respect, and shared ambitions. This roundtable serves as a platform to explore the vast potential of this relationship, particularly in sectors like technology, renewable energy, and education, where collaboration can drive meaningful change.”

The participants took time to look at the immense opportunities available for Indian businesses in the UAE that an economic collaboration between the two countries could offer. – editor@nrifocus.com
