Neopay terminals are available all over the United Arab Emirates in retail outlets, restaurants, and tourist spots. Indian citizens visiting or working in the UAE can use their PhonePe app to transact money using the United Payments Interface (UPI) at Mashreq’s Neopay terminals. The account debit will happen in Indian rupees as per the currency exchange rate.
NRIs with the UAE mobile numbers can link their non-resident external and non-resident ordinary accounts on the PhonePe app to facilitate payments at the Neopay terminals.
The newly introduced service allows users, which include tourists and NRIs, to make payments seamlessly via the PhonePe app in the UAE.
The collaboration is aiming to expand its reach to make UPI payments possible internationally. – editor@nrifocus.com
