A 38-year-old Dubai resident, Mohammed Safwan Shanu, collapsed during a game of cricket and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Shanu, a native of Bhatkal in Karnataka, had moved to the UAE 15 years ago. He had made UAE his home and was known for his love of cricket.
During one such routine sessions on the field, he collapsed on the pitch. The other players rushed him to hospital immediately but could not save him.
Shanu is survived by his parents in India, an elder brother who works in Dubai, and his wife and four children.
His friends said that he was perfectly normal until the moment of collapse.
Shanu’s parents are expected to travel to Dubai for his funeral. Since they do not have visas, arrangements are on to complete documentation process quickly. – editor@nrifocus.com
