The Joyful Singers, a UAE-based Christian gospel music group, has sung and released their latest song ‘We Are the World’, originally written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie in 1985 to raise funds for the famine in Ethiopia.

The song, which won three Grammy Awards in 1986, has been conceptualised now by this group of hobbyist singers to proclaim the message of peace and goodwill to the world amid the Iran conflict.

Renowned Emirati singer, Ahmed Alhosani, joined The Joyful Singers to render the soul-searching song, ‘We Are the World’, which was produced in a week, and shot at The Dance Academy, Dubai.

More than a hundred voices from different age groups, including children, came together to sing the song set to SATB arrangement by Nibin Jose.

The song begins with the tagline: ‘Love is what we need, regardless of religion or identity’.

Shereen Elza Joji lends her voice as the female soloist, while Alhosani sings his track.

The Joyful Singers is conducted by choir director David Anush. – editor@nrifocus.com
