Two children from Dubai, Jainam (13) and Jivika (10), better identified as the sibling duo, are transferring jiohotstar.com, which they purchased in 2017 from a Delhi-based software developer, to Reliance for free.
“Our journey with jiohotstar.com is coming to an end, a journey that started with a simple act of kindness to help a young developer from Delhi chase his dreams. It has been wonderful to share this space with all of you, spread hope, and talk about the importance of seva and kindness,” they said in a statement.
Reliance had previously made a demand of Rs.10 million to Jainam and Jivika to buy the domain from them. But the duo has clarified that the domain transfer to Reliance is free of cost. “There have been some rumours online suggesting that there is a payment or deal involved, but we want to make it clear — this is not true… There is no pressure from anyone, and there is no deal of any kind. This is purely a transfer of the domain from our side because we believe it could be useful for them. Whether or not they choose to use it is up to them.”
Both the children are popular for their charitable deeds. “To everyone who has been a part of this journey, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support and love have meant everything to us. Let’s keep moving forward, doing small acts of seva, and inspiring each other to make the world a better place. Register at SevakArmy.com and join us in spreading kindness and hope,” they added.
The software developer who created the domain was refused the offer he made to Reliance, to fund his education. It was then that he sold the domain to the siblings, who bought it with donations received in token of appreciation during their travels.
“We look forward to continuing our journey with all of you,” concluded Jainam and Jivika. “Remember: Be the change you wish to see in the world,” they said together. –editor@nrifocus.com
