The second phase of enrollment for NORKA CARE Plus, a comprehensive health and accident insurance scheme for Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs), has begun.

The exclusive insurance scheme by the NORKA Department of the Kerala Government for NRKs, along with the dedicated web portal, was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, on August 18, 2026.

The second phase of enrollment will remain open till September 18, 2026.

The scheme offers insurance coverage under seven slabs ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹1 crore. NRKs holding a valid NORKA Pravasi ID, Student ID, or NRK ID are eligible to enroll.

Enrollment is available for the remaining eight months of the NORKA CARE Plus policy period, from August 15, 2026 to April 14, 2027. Accordingly, the premium will be reduced proportionately based on the coverage period.

For policies ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore, the parents of the policyholder or spouse, up to 80 years of age, can also be included in the coverage.

Cashless treatment is available at around 24,000 hospitals across India, including more than 688 hospitals in Kerala.

Enrollment can be completed through the NORKA ROOTS website (www.id.norkaroots.kerala.gov.in) or the NORKA CARE Plus mobile application, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. – editor@nrifocus.com
