A multi-party parliamentary delegation from India met with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, at a meeting in Abu Dhabi recently.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, Member of Parliament, along with Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE. Comprising eight Members of Parliament, the delegation represented a spectrum of Indian political parties, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The team would also explore avenues of cooperation in various fields at the parliamentary and cultural levels.
Affirming the deep-rooted historical ties between the UAE and India, minister Al Nahyan said that such visits contributed to strengthening channels of dialogue, exchanging expertise, and enhancing integration between both the nations. He said sustainable development and global peace were accomplished by the shared leadership vision, while highlighting the commendable level of cooperation between Indian and the UAE across various sectors, such as education, healthcare, culture, and the economy.
Expressing profound gratitude for the warm welcome extended to the delegation, MP Shinde said that the UAE held a prestigious position among the leadership and people of India “for its global model of coexistence, tolerance, and civilizational progress”.
During the meeting, the participants discussed ways to activate parliamentary cooperation and exchange legislative experiences. Topics of mutual interest related to the current global challenges requiring joint efforts were also discussed. – Photo by Wam – editor@nrifocus.com
