Business leaders and a group of experts from India and the United Arab Emirates came together at an event in Abu Dhabi recently to explore prospects of future partnerships.
The event – India-UAE Defence Industry Partnership Forum – was co-organised by the Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM).
Senior government and military officials from the defence ministries of both the countries, besides Indian Embassy representatives of the UAE took part in the forum, where several memoranda of understanding related to defence, technology and joint projects were signed.
Defence industry companies engaged in talks to boost cooperation between the two nations.
Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, CEO of Tawazun Council, said: “The Forum reflects the strong bonds of friendship between the UAE and India across various fields, with the defence industry being a key area of cooperation. This partnership is an extension of the long-standing strategic relationship between the two countries, which serves as a model for successful international cooperation.”
Mona Al Jaber, Chairperson, EDCC, said, “This Forum affirms the depth of the strategic partnership between the UAE and India across various sectors, particularly in defense industries and reflects the commitment of both the UAE and India to fostering the growth of bilateral economic relations and advancing industrial development.”
Al Jaber emphasised that EDCC and SIDM would continue their efforts to foster mutual ties, beneficial to both countries.
Neeraj Gupta, Chairman, SIDM International & Export Committee, said, “By joining forces with EDCC, we aim to elevate the India-UAE defence partnership, promote joint R&D initiatives, and encourage strategic investments that will benefit both nations.” –editor@nrifocus.com
