The UAE has accused Iran of carrying out an attack on two vessels belonging to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. No injuries have been reported.

This is supposedly the second attack on ADNOC vessels in less than a week.

Condemning the attack, the UAE Foreign Ministry called it ‘a hostile Iranian attack’.

The ministry said that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had committed ‘acts of piracy’ by targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of economic pressure or blackmail. Such activities posed a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security, it added.

According to ADNOC, the situation has been brought under control.

ADNOC is Abu Dhabi’s state oil company. It is one of the world’s largest energy producers and exports crude oil, natural gas and refined products worldwide. – editor@nrifocus.com
