Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s fans are a happy lot. Hundreds of them are landing in batches in Tamil Nadu ahead of the Assembly Election 2026 on April 23.

Volunteers of the actor’s political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) claim that over 1,000 NRIs from Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Sharjah and Bahrain are expected to be present in the State on election day to cast their votes.

With Vijay’s TVK contesting the Assembly elections for the first time, his fans and party supporters are geared up for an exciting run for power.

Members of his fan club in Dubai called ‘Vijay Makkal Iyakkam’ say that they have been actively campaigning in constituencies across Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu. The war situation in the Middle East has, however, impacted the numbers.

This being Vijay’s first election, his supporters are positive about a political change while welcoming the promises expressed in TVK’s manifesto. – editor@nrifocus.com
