Italian luxury brand Prada’s recent launch of a ‘chai-inspired perfume’ has invoked mixed reactions on social media, after its infamous Kolhapuri chappal dispute that did the rounds last year.
Named Infusion de Santal Chai Eau de Parfum, the unisex perfume is a blend of sandalwood and chai latte notes, and forms part of Prada’s Les Infusions collection.
A post by Prada on Instagram read: ‘Creamy, spiced, intense yet subtle. Infusion de Santal Chai: a new chapter in Les Infusions collection.’
Describing the fragrance as unexpectedly fusing creamy sandalwood with the spicy notes of chai latte accord, the brand says that the product creates ‘a warm and cozy scent, lifted by a fresh touch of citrus and cardamom, plus the clean and comforting facets of musks’.
The perfume is priced at $190 (about ₹17,100) for 100ml. It is packed in a bottle with a camel cap in Saffiano texture. Buyers also get to have a complimentary 7.5 ml Infusion fragrance of their choice, for orders above $125. – editor@nrifocus.com
