Vadakkanchery, a small town in Palakkad district of Kerala, is in the spotlight after an announcement following the US elections that Vivek Ramaswamy, whose family roots lie in southern India, will head the U.S. Government Efficiency Department.
Vivek’s father V.G. Ramaswamy, who hailed from Vadakkanchery, migrated to the US more than 50 years ago. He visited Palakkad along with his family for festive occasions. Vivek, who is now 38, has kept in touch with his native town all through the years. His extended family members residing there are excited about his new political position.
The Indian-American entrepreneur, who was born and raised in the US, established himself in the business circuit as founder of Strive Asset Management, and Roivant Sciences, a pharmaceutical company. He has authored three books. – editor@nrifocus.com
