The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that the UAE was planning to operate around 300 repatriation flights to move stranded travellers in the country.

An integrated operational plan has been sketched out to carry out the safe travel of passengers from the UAE to their respective destinations. The plan was developed with help from airlines and airport authorities, besides officials from relevant capacities.

Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, NCEMA spokesperson, said, “This reflects the high level of national coordination and operational readiness in managing air traffic under exceptional circumstances.”

He confirmed that daily life in the UAE continued as usual even as mandatory services such as water, communications, transport, medical care, supply of essential goods, and energy, operated without a hindrance.

The integrated operational plan ensured that meals and transport were provided for stranded passengers, while efforts to ease visa and accommodation procedures were also being managed well.

Dhaheri emphasized that emergency business continuity plans were activated for the operational resilience of critical sectors.
