London-based Brand Finance, the world’s leading independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy, has in its ‘Hotel 50 2024’ report declared iconic brand Taj as the ‘World’s strongest hotel brand’. The consultancy values over 5,000 brands every year.
Taj has been awarded the title following a 45% increase in brand value amounting to $545 million. It has also earned an AAA+ rating – the highest granted by Brand Finance – for securing a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 92.9 out of 100. Taj is the iconic brand of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company.
Taj has also been declared the world’s second fastest growing brand because of its exceptional performance “across various strength metrics such as familiarity, consideration, recommendation, and reputation,” says the report.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said, “We are delighted for the iconic brand Taj to be honoured as the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand yet again, in its milestone 120th year. Receiving this recognition for four years, thrice as number one in the world, is a testament to the brand’s century-old legacy of pioneering destinations, setting global benchmarks and showcasing Indian hospitality to the world.” – editor @nrifocus.com
