‘Emirates Loves India’ festival at Dubai’s Zabeel Park was fraught with colour and music as thousands gathered to celebrate the historic ties between India and the UAE.
This cultural showcase was the second edition of the initiative, in partnership with the UAE Government Media Office, where folk dancers from across India participated along with performers and artistes from Dubai.
UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi, who was the chief guest at the event, said, “Tonight, we celebrate one of the world’s most enduring friendships, a bond that continues to inspire cooperation and mutual trust between our countries. The Indian community is not just part of our story; they have helped write some of the most inspiring chapters in the history of our nation.”
The sprawling ground turned into a mini India, replete with food stalls, handicraft corners, children’s play zone and wellness platforms.
The dance arena came to life with people from around the world thronging the stage, displaying not just talent but unity in diversity. The cultural extravaganza was a homecoming of sorts for hundreds of Indians as the event coincided with Diwali.
A. Amarnath, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of India to the United Arab Emirates, said, “Events like this are the heartbeat of India-UAE relations. We’ve achieved so much in trade and investment, and there are frequent high-level exchanges. But the real foundation of our relationship is the people-to-people connection — a bond that has existed for centuries. When Dubai celebrates Diwali, it sends a powerful message to the world that diversity is its strength, and that tolerance and coexistence define the future. That is the true message of this evening.” – editor@nrifocus.com
