After over a week of precautionary closure of churches by authorities in Dubai, owing to the unrest in the Middle East, some places of worship are reopening now.

The decision, though, comes with restrictions to worshippers as individuals are required to register to be allowed entry into the church. There is no provision for family or group registrations.

When a person registers, an access pass is issued which will have to be produced for entering the church portals. The access pass is mandatory for Saturdays and Sundays. During the week, from Monday to Friday, the access pass is not required for entry.

Every individual can register for only one worship service or mass a day.

It is to be noted that anyone with an access card cannot gain entry once the mass begins. Individuals are expected to arrive and be seated in church at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of service. The main doors of the church will be shut soon after the mass begins. Not even the parishioners, possessing a valid access pass, would be allowed to get inside the church premises if they are late to the mass. – Image credit: Wikipediaeditor@nrifocus.com
