Headquartered in the UAE, the Al Maya Group has been strengthening its regional presence across Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar, since its inception in 1982. It has more than 5,000 employees from 30 different countries for its multiple business verticals, and over 90 retail stores in the UAE. Now, the business conglomerate has launched India’s Unified Payment Interface (UPI) payments in all its outlets across the country.

An inaugural transaction using UPI was done at Al Maya Supermarket in Dubai in the presence of the Deputy Consul General of India in Dubai, Yatin Patel. Since the UAE is a significant destination for Indian tourists, the availability of UPI payment services is a boon to them in addition to the facility benefiting both India and the UAE.

Kamal Vachani, Group Director and Partner of Al Maya Group, said they were thrilled to be at the forefront of an innovative payment solution in the UAE, which would not only enhance shopping experience for their customers but also strengthen the economic ties between both the nations. – editor@nrifocus.com
