A 38-year-old NRI from Kuwait has confessed to murdering a senior relative in India for allegedly misbehaving with his 12-year-old daughter. He took to social media admitting on video that he flew down from Kuwait just to finish him off as the police did not act upon a complaint given in this connection.
The accused, who is a native of Andhra Pradesh, worked in Kuwait as a driver. His wife worked there as a cook. However, their daughter was in the care of her maternal aunt in their village. The girl went to a residential school but would visit her aunt often and stayed with her on certain days. The aunt’s father-in-law, who lived in the same house, was accused of touching the girl ‘inappropriately’, as per the girl’s accounts.
The girl told the mother about this over the phone. When questioned, the aunt had said that something like that could never have happened. The girl’s mother flew down to India and filed a police complaint. Enquiries revealed that both the sisters never got along. The woman returned to tell her husband that no action was taken against the old man.
The girl’s father took a flight to India, dashed to his village and allegedly bludgeoned to death the old man sleeping in the house. Soon after, he rushed to Chennai airport to catch a flight back to Kuwait.
In the video he uploaded later, he said that his daughter could say what a bad touch was. A police case has been registered and efforts are on to bring the couple back to India. – editor@nrifocus.com
