Syed Waheed and his wife Sana Begum lived with their three children in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi. Originally from Telangana in Andhra Pradesh, the family was in Abu Dhabi on account of Waheed’s work with a cybersecurity firm since 2018.

The family was in their car when they met with a road accident that killed Waheed and Begum, leaving the three children with injuries. Aged 11 and 5 years, two children escaped with minor injuries. The last child aged four months was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

The relatives of the family sought help from the Indian Embassy that made arrangements to repatriate the bodies to India on humanitarian grounds.

The bodies were laid to rest even as the last child continues to battle for life. – editor@nrifocus.com
