The second phase of Work Bundle, a part of the United Arab Emirates’ digital transformation – a successful initiative by the UAE government – is expected to benefit about 7 million workers in over 600,000 businesses across the UAE.

Under the single online portal, procedures that once took a month for completion can now be done within five days. The number of mandatory steps have reduced from 15 to 5, and the documents for submission from 16 to 5.

Work Bundle is a single platform that aims to streamline the process of employee and business management in private sector establishments in the UAE by providing a bundle of integrated services. The platform helps to complete services like employment renewal, medical examination, job cancellation, among others.

It integrates procedures for government entities consisting of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), and the Department of Economy and Tourism.

The first phase of Work Bundle that was launched in Dubai in March this year is now implemented in all seven emirates.

At this juncture, the UAE government has rolled out the second phase of the initiative featuring the unified digital platform http://workinuae.ae, which will provide residency and essential employment services for individuals and private sector companies.

The third phase would cover domestic workers. – editor@nrifocus.com
