The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has in a statement announced the cancellation of Class XII board examinations in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Following a review of whether exams could be conducted in these countries, the opinions of schools and academic officials were considered before the decision was made to cancel the exams.
Exams that were earlier postponed and all examinations that were scheduled to be conducted from March 16 to April 10, 2026, were cancelled.
While the mode of declaration of results will be announced separately, CBSE has confirmed that the decision prioritises the safety of students.
The announcement was circulated to Indian embassies and consulates across the Middle East.
It is to be noted that CBSE had cancelled all Class 10 examinations in the Middle East, scheduled from March 2 to 11. – editor@nrifocus.com
