Invest Kerala Global Summit: Industrial park for NRIs to come up in Kerala

The much anticipated Invest Kerala Global Summit to be held in Kochi on February 21-22 will see the participation of leading UAE-based industrial conglomerates.

UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri will be the chief guest, while representatives from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce will be taking part in the two-day summit.

Ahead of the event, Kerala Minister for Law, Industries and Coir, P. Rajeev, who was in Dubai for the Invest Kerala Roadshow, announced that plans are on to set up an industrial park exclusively for NRIs in Kerala. He commented that it was an opportune time to invest in Kerala as it had secured the top position as the most investment-friendly State in the country. He highlighted the clean environment across the State in contrast to pollution being a challenge in most other States.

When asked about the prevailing labour strikes that are a cause of concern, the minister referred to Kerala not being listed among the States known for labor unrest.

Lulu Group Chairman M.A. Yusuff Ali, Aster DM Healthcare Chairman Dr. Azad Moopen, MP Abdul Wahab, key government officials and prominent industry leaders were present at the event in Dubai.

Invest Kerala Global Summit, organized by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) under the aegis of the Department of Industry and Commerce, aims to attract significant domestic and international investments across various sectors crucial to the State’s economic growth.
