The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and other central agencies, worked together for months to successfully bring terrorist Parminder Singh from the UAE, where he had taken refuge for more than a year. The terrorist was wanted for his involvement in several heinous crimes.
The Punjab Police, which had requested Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice against Singh in June this year, instituted a four-member team to travel to the UAE and complete legal formalities before bringing Singh back to India.
Singh’s terrorist activities include petrol bomb attacks, deadly assaults, and extortion activities in the Batala-Gurdaspur region. It was also found that he was using social media platforms to raise funds to carry out murder and criminal intimidation. He fled from India and was absconding till the International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in collaboration with other investigative units of Abu Dhabi and India, decided to nab him after tracking his movement in Abu Dhabi. Their plan worked and Singh was arrested. – editor@nrifocus.com
