India’s Policybazaar has announced that the company’s UAE’s operations are 60–70% up and running now, following drone strikes that disrupted Amazon’s cloud infrastructure in the Middle East.

“For a couple of days, our entire operation went bust because we were not able to run the website – everything was hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS),” Policybazaar UAE CEO Neeraj Gupta said, confirming that Policybazaar UAE will resume its entire services in about three days.

It was revealed that the war scenario in Iran had also impacted prospective life insurance policy customers from taking a policy during uncertain times.

Amazon has also announced the disruptions to cloud services on account of drone strikes damaging its data centres in Bahrain and the UAE. The company informed its customers about backing up vital data to servers located in safer AWS regions.

Policybazaar UAE is also analyzing options to temporarily shift its data outside the war-affected region. – editor@nrifocus.com
