One of the top Asian tourist spots, The Philippines, has introduced a new visa policy that allows Indian passport holders to avail of a 14-day visa-free entry into the country. This is a significant move by the Philippine government, aiming to boost its tourism sector.

Indian tourists must have a valid passport with at least six months validity and proof of funds for their duration of stay.

Indian nationals with valid visas or permanent residency across the world in countries such as the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore, or any Schengen state are also eligible under this visa-free programme. They can plan a stay for up to 30 days.

For Indian travellers planning a longer stay for purposes not related to tourism can benefit from the e-visa system rolled out by the Philippines government. Travel plans can be streamlined digitally under this, and quickly too.

A digital nomad visa is also on the cards, which would allow remote workers employed by foreign companies to live and work in the Philippines for as long as it’s required by the employer. This plan would draw global professionals and long-term visitors to the country with over 7,000 islands, emerging as an industrialized economy. – editor@nrifocus.com
