The passengers of easyJet flight, flying from Luton to Glasgow, lived a nightmare when an Indian man began to swear that he was going to bomb the aircraft.

Abhay Devdas Nayak, a resident of Luton, originally from India, raised his fists shouting: “I am going to bomb the plane! Death to America! Death to Trump,” while the aircraft was heading to Glasgow, where it made an emergency landing in a corner of the airport.

Witnesses said that Nayak, 41, was repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar”. He was arrested immediately and taken away, thanks to one passenger who tackled Nayak and pinned him to the flight floor before two others rushed to help him.

Nayak was presented at Paisley Sheriff Court, charged with endangering the safety of the aircraft. He was also booked for threatening to assault the cabin crew.

Another passenger on board the flight said that those who grabbed Nayak pulled out his wallet to discover that he was ‘an Indian national with a refugee status card’.
