Indian expat families can expect the blossoming of more Indian curriculum schools in the UAE in the imminent future.
Talks on education were a priority during India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s two-day visit to the UAE recently. The minister met Sara Musallam, Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and discussed mutual educational opportunities between the two countries.
They felt that increasing the number of Indian curriculum schools in the UAE would be an effective way to accommodate the thousands of children from Indian expat families.
It was also understood at the meeting how facilitating a two-way school-level student exchange programme between India and the UAE would meet the educational needs of the diaspora.
Pradhan expressed his gratitude to ADEK for enabling the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Abu Dhabi campus, while highlighting the success of Atal Tinkering Labs in India.
The minister said that plans were on to introduce similar labs in Indian schools across the UAE. – editor@nrifocus.com
