Since India is a top destination for travellers in the UAE, Emirates airlines has alerted its non-Indian customers about the e-Arrival Card system launched by India recently.
On October 1, India introduced the new system for non-nationals from the UAE, on holiday visits or business trips to India.
The initiative is a secure online platform through which the e-Arrival Card can be filled in for free. The India Bureau of Immigration Website generates the form, which can be filled in – from 72 hours and no later than 24 hours – before the flight. The Su-Swagatam app or the Indian visa website are also accessible for this process.
Indian nationals, citizens or Overseas Citizen of India cardholders do not require an e-Arrival Card.
The e-Arrival Card system requires personal information such as name of traveller, travel dates, and duration and place of stay in India along with the contact information.
In case you miss this procedure before beginning your travel to India, non-nationals can fill the form at the airport on arrival. – editor@nrifocus.com
