As one of the top travel destinations, Dubai has good news for Indian tourists. The city-state has launched a five-year multiple-entry visa that is expected to not just boost tourism but foster economic and business ties as well between the UAE and India.
Of the 17.15 million international overnight visitors Dubai welcomed last year, 2.46 million were from India.
Looking back at the year 2018, Dubai saw 89.1 million passengers set foot on its soil – the highest tourist count to this day. Authorities at the airport are hopeful that this year Dubai would receive 88.8 million passengers from around the world.
Last year, India topped the list of tourists with 11.9 million. Saudi Arabia and the UK took the second and third slots with 6.7 million and 5.9 million tourists, respectively.
The multiple-entry visa, which would seamlessly leverage entry and exit, is a boon for those visiting Dubai on business, and for leisure. The visa holder can stay in the country for 90 days. It’s extendable though by another 90 days, thereby allowing a total stay of not more than 180 days a year.
Once the service request is made, the multiple-entry visa will be issued in less than a week.
