Making the visa process simple is one sure way of enhancing tourism between two nations. The president of the Saudi Tourism Authority – Asia Pacific, Alhasan Aldabbagh, knows that well. In line with Saudi Vision 2030, not forgetting the long-lasting ties of the Middle-Eastern country with India, a 96-hour free visa for Indian citizens has been launched.

Aldabbagh said that last year alone Saudi Arabia welcomed 1.5 million Indian travellers. One main reason why Saudi has unveiled this four-day free visa is to up the number of Indian tourists, besides forging a stronger bond with the nation that’s supportive of their endeavour in various sectors. Aldabbagh hopes the number of Indian travellers to Saudi Arabia would reach 7.5 million by the year 2030.

The visa process is easy. You can apply through any of the 10 VFS offices in India. In just three days, you’ll get the digital visa in hand. The visa is valid for three months, and is free. In addition to this, anyone holding a US, UK, or Schengen visa, can get an e-visa or visa on arrival. The free visa, however, also holds good for anyone flying via Saudi Arabia by Flynas, and stopping in Saudi for a break – for anywhere up to 96 hours.
