An alert issued by the US State Department sends out a warning to American citizens around the world, highlighting the dangers of travel to the Middle East during this time of conflict.
The alert insisted that US citizens exercise increased caution due to escalated tensions on account of the US-Iran war.
It said: ‘Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation. Americans outside the Middle East should reconsider travel to and through the region. Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise caution and heightened vigilance and should be prepared for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions.’
The authority also urged travellers to monitor embassy and consular security alerts, local authorities, and news for breaking developments.
