It is hard to believe US President Donald Trump’s declaration of bringing the Iran conflict to an end when a buildup of US troops has been noticed in the Gulf, raising concerns of potential attacks.

Though Trump had announced earlier that the conflict could end in a few weeks, he has also vowed more aggressive strikes on Iran in the next two to three weeks. “We’re going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong,” said Trump.

Iran’s army commander-in-chief Amir Hatami has responded to this, saying they are ready to counter any method of attack. “No enemy troops should survive if adversaries attempt a ground operation,” said Hatami.

Iran’s armed forces have also warned the US and Israel of “more crushing, broader and more destructive” attacks.

A statement shared by Iranian media quotes a spokesman of the Iran military as saying that the war would continue until the “permanent regret and surrender” of Tehran’s enemies.

Trump is determined that the US would achieve its military objectives soon, hinting that an escalation in war can be expected if Iranian leaders ignore Washington’s terms during negotiations. – Image credit: wikipedia – editor@nrifocus.com
