Qatar’s remote work policy that was introduced at the beginning of this month on March 1 has officially ended, following an announcement from the Ministry of Labour in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The temporary arrangement that allowed employees to avail of flexible working hours was introduced as a precautionary measure in the middle of the Iran conflict. With most day-to-day operations returning to normalcy, private sector employees who were allowed to work from home wherever the nature of work permitted, have been asked to report for duty at their respective job locations.

Even employees working for the government had the remote work facility during the politically dangerous and sensitive time.

Across Qatar’s workforce, offices have reopened at full capacity with employees resuming their regular schedules.

Standard workplace operations have begun in full swing, even as authorities have emphasized the importance of the safety of employees, saying ‘the highest level of protection’ will be extended to them.

During the remote work phase, employees of several sectors such as military and security, healthcare, and those employed in shops and restaurants were never fully remote. – Image credit: wikipedia – editor@nrifocus.com
