NRI alert: The UAE announces partial closure of its airspace

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the temporary and partial closure of the UAE’s airspace. The decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of flights and air crews. The move was crucial to safeguard the UAE’s territory also in the midst of unprecedented political developments.

The GCAA said that it will continue to keep the relevant authorities and the public informed of any changes in the current status. It confirmed that the decision was taken after a comprehensive assessment of security and operational risks. National and international authorities were involved in the exercise, which stressed upon airspace safety of the UAE.

The Authority expressed its appreciation to the public for their understanding in these very challenging times, adding that passengers need to contact their respective airlines to obtain the latest updates regarding flight schedules. All the airlines are equipped to provide accommodation and necessary assistance to the passengers.
