Paramita Tripathi, who was appointed as the Ambassador of India to Kuwait in September, took charge by offering floral tributes at the ‘Shilaphalakam’ in Kuwait where Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives in service of the nation. She paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, and planted a neem sapling on the Embassy premises.
Ambassador Tripathi’s role begins a new chapter in India–Kuwait relations, involving energy collaboration, trade, and cultural exchange. She would work to expand cooperation by building on the bilateral relations of both the nations.
On the first day, Ambassador Tripathi presented her credentials to H.E. Abdulmohsen Jaber Al-Zaid, Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs. The meeting was an affirmation of India’s aim to deepen the existing operations in vital sectors, such as trade, energy, culture, and society of India and Kuwait.
Tripathi is a 2001 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service, whose overseas assignments include Brussels (2003–2005) and Tokyo (2008–2011). She has held key positions on the Pakistan and United Nations desks in India’s Ministry of External Affairs. – editor@nrifocus.com
