Dr. Mohammed Abdul Saleem, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon from Hyderabad, currently residing in the port city of Jeddah, has been appointed by the Saudi Ministry of Education as the new chairman of the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ).

The school, founded in 1969, is one of the largest in Saudi Arabia with over 10,000 students. It teaches Telugu as one of the subjects in the CBSE curriculum.

Dr. Saleem was previously on the school’s management committee. He assumed charge as chairman in the presence of the school authorities. Dr. Hemalatha Mahalingan, who held the position earlier, was the first woman to head community-run schools in Saudi Arabia.

IISJ Principal Dr. Mohammed Imran congratulated Dr. Saleem, who will be leading the academic institution along with Dr. Prince Mufti Zia, Dr. Shafee, Dr. Zubair, Dr. Hemalatha, Dr. Farheen Taha, and Dr. Nusrath.
